If you resigned, why would you get separation pay? If no separation pay was offered at the time, I don't see why you would get it now? I guess more details are needed, but you're still probably better off calling a lawyer than asking on Y!A. |

are you kidding? when you quit you are entitled to nothing. You quit! Why would they owe you? Separation pay is for when they seperat from you. it's a benefit of being laid-off. |

In my opinion, NO! Why should you be paid for your resignation from a company. They don't owe you squat! People trying to get something for nothing really gets under my skin. Oh you gave them nine years. Well guess what, they gave you nine years too, so mabey you owe them! |

It depends on the company. If you quit at will, then I'd say no. If you were laid off, that's a different story. Every company has their own separation packages. Check with the HR person in charge. |
