Retail Question: how to tackle rude behaviour of a colleague? ?

I recently have a colleague who has been promoted to management and as a result has changed alot in the respect that she has become very rude when asking you to do something, and very insulting and intimidating as a result. Many staff members including myself are fed up of this and was wondering how to deal with a situation as this? Does it count as a 'bullying' issue?

go to your area manager or head office and make a complaint, if you can get all the staff to do it together she will get a warning its bad enough taking rudeness of some customers you dont need it from your manager as well x |

Take it up with head office. Tell them you and many other people are unhappy about her. am sure they will do something about it. |

You need to question how this person makes you feel. You need to organise with your other colleagues a meeting. Even if you meet for coffee or dinner away from the workplace. Discuss how you all feel about this person. Get a notepad an pen and make notes. Everybody should have there own say. Please bear in mind that everybody has problems in their own lives outside of the workplace and sometimes, although its very bad form, people bring their problems to work and take it out on those around them.The only way to keep track of this persons behaviour is to make a diary, and write in it all the dates and times of innappropriate behaviour. Such as swearing at you, threatening you, putting their workload on you, etc. Please make sure your points are valid, as this may be a case of power gone to this persons head, which may wear off. |

It is a transition phase and not uncommon. She now has management responsibility and is subconciously trying to put space between herself and what where her work colleagues. Wrong way of going about it admittedly but people like her usually settle back down once they feel more secure in their position. Trouble nowadays is so many hot house flower employees' see any sign of authority as harassment or bullying. |
