Revenge on Horrible Supervisor?

I am an on site property manager. Our regional maintenance supervisor ( from out of town) refuses to play nice with anyone on our property.

We have asked for improvements on the property, and then he comes down to help us because the property itself has gone through 6 managers and God only knows how many other staff members.

However, instead of helping out the property and teaching and guiding the employees, this Regional Supervisor does more harm than good.

When he comes out to the property, he complains about how he hates it here. Our property, the city in which we live, etc. He moans and complains that he just wishes that the owner would sell it.

The last time he was down, he looked at me all day long and gave me dirty looks. I called him out on it and asked him why he was doing it.
He made up some lame excuse of course.

I called him in my office to try and do the adult thing and talk it out with him. He was very condescending and replied that if he had it his way, we would all be fired, and the owner would sell the property. ( This is the only property in which he actually has to travel to.)

The meeting wasn't a success. He actually wound up telling me that all of the other employees were complaining about me, but he wouldn't tell me what I was doing so I could make it better.

When he left, I found out that he did the same thing to them, and wouldn't tell them either.

We've all been threatened over our jobs and our "arguements" that we have all been getting into . However, we all found out that the supervisor is the one that is causing conflict between the staff.

I tried to talk to the owner about it, but he just didn't seem like he cared. He did care when I told him that the negativity about the property was really hindering my work. He asked me who said it, and I told him. He made me, actually.

Other than that, he really took up for the Supervisor, and kept cutting me off when I tried to tell him anything. He was so intimidating, and mad at all of us anyway because the Regional Maintenance Supervisor was telling him how petty we are, and we're all fighting.

I also tried to tell the owner that whenever this guy would tell me to really turn the heat up on the staff here, even though we can't get help on a property that is suffering and was like this when we all got here, he would then talk to me in a way that was rude and condescending and I would get in trouble for doing exactly what he told me to do.

I don't know what else to do. I really like everyone that I work with, on the actual property. I feel that if I say anything else about him to the owner, I may look bad and get fired, which jobs are so hard to find these days.

I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on how to deal with this guy. I shouldn't be forced to move on to another job and just quit because of this guy. Besides, that's exactly what he wants anyway.

Someone has got to know what I can do to either get him to stop, or to get him into trouble, where even though he is the owner's friend, the owner would not be able to ignore it and something would have to be done.

Side note:
The ONLY boss that he has to answer to is the owner, which seems to think that he's a perfect employee. He's been with the company for 8 years.

Not only that, but I failed to mention that this guy has told our employees that if he had to work with the b*tches in the office, he'd drink everyday. He went on to say that he'd crack open the can, and knock us the f*ck out with it.

( We've never been anything but nice to him, unless we were defending ourselves.)
