Sample recommendation letter for attorney?

As most former employers do, mine has told me if I want a recommendation letter I need to write it myself. I need help. I haven't done this before (previous employer wrote one for me but it wasn't all that great). I worked with this firm for over 2 years as an attorney. I handled my own caseload and organized the crazy office to make it more manageable. I went to court and attended hearings on my own. I worked with a staff of 4. I negotiated several settlements to my client's interest. Someone please help me put this into a letter!! I've working on it myself for two days and can't seem to get it right. Thanks you.

Write the letter like you would a resume. Include all positive aspects of your position/work, your responsibilities, and summaries of types of cases you've handled.

To whom it may concern:

Mr./Ms. Z has worked for ABC Firm since DATE as an associate attorney. His/her responsibilities include R, S, and T (or how much ever you want to put in there). As an associate, he has been responsible (maybe use a synonym) for handling cases from inception to conclusion (that's beginning to end, but sounds better), including negotiating successful resolutions for our clients.

Representative clients include: THIS IS ASSUMING THEY ARE LARGE COMPANIES. Otherwise, you don't need this.

Sample of cases handled (assuming they didn't end in a confidential settlement).

I think that's about it.
