is there a website on this?? or any info for california?? and Just because we are in a recession, that does not give companies the right to mistreat me or other employees whos going thur the same thing.

It should equal more pay but the sad news is that it falls under 'all other tasks assigned' which is usually always in a job description. Many employees have had more worked dumped on them with no pay because of the downsizing in the companies.
You have to grin and bear it and appreciate that you have a job. If it gets to be too much, you can start looking for something else. |

There's no law saying that adding duties to an employee's responsibilities requires additional pay. Actually pay could be cut legally as long as it's still at least minimum wage.
If you have time during your workday to do additional things, how is it mistreatment for your employer to give you more to do? |
