The road to become a lawyer will long, and challenging. It will require consistent dedication, and motivation. However, that does not mean it is impossible. A career as a lawyer can be very rewarding. Really, it all boils down to what you want, and what you make of it. Obviously, you need a bachelors degree with a good G.P.A. of 3.0 or somewhere close to it, a good L.S.A.T. score, and successful completion of law school. As a lawyer the odds are in your favor for a better earning potential, clout, leverage, and credibility in most situations you encounter. There are many opportunities for you as lawyer career wise. Politics, business, research, law practice, teaching, etc. Again it is what you make of it, and what you want to do. Lots of lawyers do well, and there are some lawyers who don't do well and are miserable. Another option is to consider getting an M.B.A. and become a consultant, analyst, high level manager, C.F.O. (will require certification), C.P.A. (will require certification), C.I.O., M.I.O., Entrepreneur, etc. Or you could skip college or graduate school all togetheir and become a successful entrepreneur or an athlete. The world is yours, you have options. Either way getting a good education M.B.A., M.D., PH.D., J.D. or whatever will benefit you in some way. Statistically, those with advanced degrees/education do have higher earnings and career opportunites. Not every single one of them, but lots of them do well. Do what you want or whatever you feel is good for you. |
