Legally, you don't have to give them notice. But it's the right thing to do.
If the new job offer says you have to start right away, I'd go ahead and take it and explain to the other company why you can't give notice to them, and maybe offer to come in evenings or weekends to help get them through the transition. |

Do you *need* to? Well, not any more than you *need* to do most other things that are polite and that follow generally accepted rules of good business practice.
Give them at least two weeks notice. It's the right thing to do. |

Isn't there anything in your contract about how much notice you need to give? It's usually mentioned somewhere. |

Yes -- otherwise it can come back to haunt you if you ever use them as a reference again. And you don't want to have to explain a 4+ year gap in employment! |

Yes you should give notice so you will have them as a good reference in the future. Good luck with your new job! |

Yeah, its always good to give a 2 weeks notice, that way in the Future you can use them as a reference.
Yeah I'll be quitting my job because they cut my hours too!

You don't *need* to, per se, but it's a good idea. Giving notice is generally something that employers will look at in the future. To them, it means that you're thinking about your employer as well as yourself. Also, you won't be burning bridges with this company in case you need to go back later. |

My boss asked me to organize the work shop. Place is cluttered and dust bunnies all over.
In respect to her I cleaned one portion. Dust effected my health all night i coughed and my sinuses acted up. Will she terminate me if I refuse to do the order (even though in our job description it stated, other duties may assign) and confront her about it. Also I am a production manager and my work place is hell. Presently I am looking for a new job. Im management manual I have to give them 4 weeks of resignation notice. That is too long.
Can I give them only two and still get paid for my extra personal and vacation days. or they will punish me and not pay.
