Should I quit 4th tier law school to become an actress?
Find answers to your legal question.

Should I quit 4th tier law school to become an actress?

Got a free ride in a 4th tier law school but want to be an actress/model? I've got looks and talent. Maybe no connections/rich parents yet. Currently 2L, should I quit now and pursue my dream (actresses have short shelf life) or continue with legal career which I really hate just because I got free ride in a fourth tier toilet?
or should i still get a law degree for the purpose of security later in life, My grades are very mediocre, all Cs ( with exclusion of non-curved courses).

Why would you quit if you only have one year left? That would mean that the last two years that you do have completed were a waste of your time. Finish it and then move on, that way you have a JD to fall back on when your looks are no longer around. A back up plan is never a bad idea I don't care what your grades are. You've made it this far, finish it and be done with it forever, you'll never have to look at it again once it's done. You can do more with a JD than you can a career as an actress or modeling career. Give yourself credit, not many people can even get into law school, you've not only got in, but your almost finished! That's something to be proud of!! Kuddos to you GF!!

In this market, you're likely to have a hard time finding a good legal job if you graduate from a 4th tier law school with mediocre grades. (Although if you're at a top tier law school, or have stellar grades at a less great law school, you can still get a job, even in this market.) For that reason, if you were offered a terrific acting or modeling job that required you to drop out of law school, I'd tell you to consider it.

But honestly, why do you need to drop out of law school in order to go to casting calls? When I was in law school, it was pretty easy to schedule my classes so that I had entire free days, or free afternoons or mornings. You could go to casting calls and try-outs during your free time, and if you did happen to land a great role, well, then you could consider whether you should drop out of law school to pursue it. But why drop out when you don't even know if you could get a good part or a model job? A million girls have looks and talent, and most of them are waitressing. Only a few of them manage to make a real living acting.

I say hedge your bets and pursue both goals this year. It will just take good time management. Time enough to consider dropping out when you land a role opposite Brad Pitt.

Jobs in the field of Law are drying up FAST! This is not a good field to invest time and/or money in. Many reasons. Main reason?.....We simply have WAY TOO MANY Lawyers - we have a GLUT of Attorneys!

So, even IF you finish law school, you probably won't be able to find a job when you are done. The law schools know this, but they won't tell you the truth >that the economy/market is SATURATED. The law schools continue to churn out graduates.

Go with your heart.

You should get your degree and then pursue the acting.

Think...which one is better. "beautiful woman" or "Beautiful woman with a degree".

No one is gonna stop you from modelling bcoz you took a law degree. And graduation can help you a lot. Trust me. I am a guy who messed up my grad. Now i regret it.

Tough school out, then follow your passion.

If that fails (I hope not) at least you've got something to fall back on.
