Should i change my hairstyle on a job interview?

Should i change my hairstyle on a job interview?

I hate to pose this question but I'm wondering if too much ethnicity on a job interview hurts chances on getting a job. I know corporate america has its own standards & dress codes, and on interviews, the suit, white shirt & black pumps is a standard, & so is the way you wear your hair. Guys should have their hair cut low & neat & women, from what I've known, should have their hair pulled back in a neat bun with small earrings & not much makeup or no makeup at all. the cleaner the look the better. I think to wear my hair in natural "twists" on a job interview, that may hurt my chances of finding a job & it may clash with the "look" (i.e., suit, white shirt, etc.). I'm thinking of getting my hair braided in extensions so that i can pull it back in a neat bun & this may be a better look for a job interview than to wear my hair in natural twists, even if the twists laying down flat. what do you guys think? I'm trying to look the part as best I can, so that I can land the job. thanks.
Additional Details
p.s. the job interviews are with law firms for legal secretary positions.

Yes, your hair should be pulled back, and you should wear just a little makeup. Your hair being pulled back is meant to highlight your facial expressions. I don't think the twists are too ethnic so long as their pulled away from your face. Keep in mind that law firms are notoriously liberal and strive for a diverse staff, but I do know where you're coming from, I've pronounced my name the "American" way instead of the true way in order to conform (my selling-out moment). I've noticed the more "American" I am, the easier the interview. On second thought... maybe you should braid your hair.

The legal field is VERY conservative. Unless your interview is for a plaintiff's firm, plan to dress the part. Wear a professional suit, either with slacks or a skirt. As far as the hair goes, pulled back in a low ponytail is good, and so is pulled up. I'm an attorney and I didn't do anything with my hair on my interviews. I just wore it straight and flat, but I did wear a suit.

If you think it will hurt you, it probably will

It sounds like your hair is different, but not wild, so I think it will be fine. You know what to wear and will obviously be professional. I think you should just wear it like you would usually wear it when you are going somewhere nice. Good luck!
