Should i submit a written notice if i am giving my 2 weeks at work?

Yes- give them something in writting. Especially if you are planning on using them for a future reference. Employers always think highly of people that conduct themselves in a professional manor. It makes the question "Would this person be elligible for rehire?" an easy one to answer.

In the past when I have given notice I typed something up that was short, simple and to the point. You don't have to give them every bit of information; just keep it brief and business-like. Works everytime.

Good Luck.

you should always give written notice (keep it simple) even if it is two weeks, it is more professional and you never know when you may need them for a reference

It's always better to submit a written notice. Later when someone calls for a reference and supervisors, HR folks, etc. have forgotten details, they will be able to look at the letter and see that you resigned in a professional manner.

yes absolutely

You don't want to burn bridges, you might want to go back! Submitting a written notice shows your employer that you apreciate the oppurtunity of working with them. This also increases the possibility of a negotiation to keep your services.

always give a written resignation.
always talk to your immediate supervisor in person and give her/him a copy as well as the copy you give to HR (or similar position in a smaller work setting).
