around how much my upcoming paycheck would be. Well, I noticed that someone had manually added in half hour breaks, that I never took. They were on four hour shifts!
The way we do payroll at our store, is every Sunday, the opening manager logs into Kronos, prints out everyone's time sheets. After that they can still edit the time card. Then they send it to payroll through the computer.
I asked for my printed time sheet, and noticed that she printed it out BEFORE she had changed my times, making it seem like I still had the right times. So this morning I went in and brought some of my past pay check stubs. I found a whole day that was still on the printed out time sheet, BUT when sent to payroll, she deleted it( you can print out an audit that shows a "punch" which mean the person clocked in through the computer, and "edit" punch where someone had to edit the time, but then you can also delete someone's time, and all my punches were there EXCEPT for this one day.
I added up the hours I shouldve had, and they did not match what she really sent to payroll. She also is doing it to my Assistant Manager. We have copies of our pay check stubs, the printed time sheets, the audit sheets, and what was really sent to payroll. We have had problems with our manager before, but our District Manager never did anything about, it just kind of got swept under the rug. So I need to know what should be done. And if she can get/should get fired for doing this. Also, if retaliation(because she is vengeful, and probably would retaliate) happened, what could be done about that as well.

What your manager did is highly illegal. The company you work for can be fined into the millions for this. Skip talking to the manager, and the district manager, as it will be swept under the rug again. Call the Dept. of Labor, and report this. They will ask you for proof of this situation. Fax the info to them, and you will be reimbursed for any hours you feel you are missing. The company cannot retaliate against you for this. If they do, you will have a very serious lawsuit on your hands. Also, just to let you know. If your manager is receiving a bonus from the company based on the numbers she turns in, she has committed embezzlement. I have seen many managers go to jail for this! |

okay first I would keep every paystub and a record of when you clock in and out most time clock now print out a paper or log in computers do as well note everything 15 minute paid breaks and 30 lunches on more than 4 hour days contact your better business bureau and in your break room there should be posters put up with 1-800 numbers an employee can call with an issue... also if you are not getting anywhere with district manager contact your coporate office they have a human resource that can tell you who handles employee issues...if all else fails contact a legal aid lawyer...good luck |
