My Wife has been a stay at home Mother for 2 1/2 years and is currently seeking a job...but so far, no luck! I am wondering if she can collect unemployment benefits during the time it takes her to find a job?

Unemployment is for people who were laid off, not people who decided to stay home. As it is paid by the employers for the last 8 quarters (2 years) there is no one to pay her benefits, as she was not working. |

Unemployment is paid for by your old employer so with her being out of work for so long she will not be able to claim any. |
