Taking action against abusive pet store?

i want to somehow take action against a pet store. there is a lot of animal cruelty. i was thinking of reporting them somehow.
i'm 14 years old. what can i do that is legal?
(i live in illinois if that helps)

I dont know much about law but my advice would be to get evidence, but dont endanger yourself.take pics, recordings with a camera phone to be discreet, if you could get someone to verify what you say is good, take someone with you.i wouldn't bother confronting them, they may hide evidence,what they are doing is wrong and so should be reported anyway. make sure you have plenty enough memory in your phone first.I'd try the RSPCA first, not sure what they are called in the US, its a similar name.Also make sure you record what you see each time you see it, accurately and date it. It can just be in a note book, doesn't need to be fancy. Here in Australia the RSPCA can't do anything without evidence.If you can't get in touch with th RSPCA, try the police, then a local animal rights group. Hope this helps. Ahem. I think it's legal enough to just stand outside the store with a sign, depending on where you live. You can also call your local humane society, animal hospital, or police. |
