Find answers to your legal question.

The company I worked for sold to a new company and has a contract, the place it says hourly rate is blank?

And has an effective date of two weeks before we got the contract. Should I fill in the amount they have been paying me since the effective date on contract? Or do I leave it blank?

I would put that amount or more in it. Sounds like an opportunity to get a pay raise.

Seriously, until you accept it by signing it, it doesn't matter. Of course if you don't sign it they may ask you to leave if they want to.

Was this addressed to you personaly?
Do you have to sign it & retrun it?

Then I would put in the rate you were being paid.

It never hurts to check with some one else to see what todo.

excellent opportunity to get a raise, put in a couple of dollars more, and have reasons (bullets on a resume' ) as to why you are worth it.

good luck.

DO NOT LEAVE IT BLANK!

Try writing in a figure 3x your current salary. It should at least get a conversation going.

I worked at a company that was bought out. They used the "new contract" scheme to disenfranchise the employees. Everyone was a "new" employee. As new employees, they had no seniority, minimal vacation and other benefits were lost.

Talk to an attorney! For $100 you can find out the game that they are playing.
