You have the responsibility to open doors, which equals POWER!

MS S
that no one that you do not trust has a copy of that key.

The executive staff and all department heads have a master key where I work. What it means for me is the ability to come in early or stay late, or to come in on weekends to play catch up.

It means I work harder than those without a master key, truth be told.

Instant gratification. Even the smallest thing is an emergency and everyone expects you to be available immediately every minute of the day. Well, at least the President doesn't need to come in early. Ours gets a little grumpy when he has to do that. It may imply you are the best person to be Fire Marshall; but, usually, you don't get to wear a helmet or use a bullhorn.

Actually, it helps when you have deadlines for special projects. You can go in a little early, have the place to yourself and get a leg up on your daily work before someone calls because they can't find their card key.

Still, it's nice to be needed. Good Luck.
