My husband lost his job in December.He missed a bit of work through out the year.His boss was okay with that (back pain issues).He was never given any written warnings out of the 4 years he worked for this company he was also the foremen.So one day his boss did not pay him properly for a regular work week which his boss said he owed him the money for missed time anyways it made no sense so they argued and was told not to come back to work.So now he has been getting unemployment for 3 weeks we got a letter today from unemployment stating he has to go to a hearing because his Boss told unemployment he tried to rehire him and my husband refused.Which is true my husband was offered his job back with a with a $3.00 pay cut and no longer having no insurance.So he said no way.We have a child and I only make a small income what is I'm scared will he end up losing his unemployment?Any suggestions on what he should do when he goes to his appeal?

When he goes to his appeal he needs to just tell the truth. The decrease in salary and loss of benefits might be considered a valid reason for turning down returning to the company, or might not, that will depend on the unemployment people.

An offer to rehire with pay cut is not a valid offer and hence your husband was correct in declining the offer and he will win the appeal and continue to get unemployment.
