Unemployment- i put in my notice at a job that I would have gotten terminated soon im i eligible for benefits?

scottsdale az, I put in my two week notice first before i was probably going to get terminated, they ended up letting me go immediately and did not pay my for my two weeks. Im I eligible for unemployment. I did not want to get fired because it would hurt me for future job oppurtunites. They were also making the work conditions very bad on me because i was not meeting my sales in the morgage business. Thanks

you can and should file you may qualify for at least part of the two weeks notice period since they let you go early. you may not qualify for anything else since you did not have "cause" to quit.

Since you resigned, no, although you might be eligible for the two weeks of your notice period since they let you go early. But one of those weeks would be a waiting week, so you'd only maybe get one week of benefits.

File because you never know - you may have to go through a hearing to get it.

If you are looking for another job try the 2010 Census they have started hiring call 1-866-861-2010 to take the test and also check out their web site for more information and the practice test http://www.census.gov/2010censusjobs/index.php

Good luck -

Since you resigned you would not be eligible for unemployment and the courtesy of a 2 weeks notice does not mean they have to pay you for the 2 weeks if they let you go early. Some Company policies will not accept the 2 weeks due to possible security risks. Still good to give one as you do not want to burn any bridges. You never know who yu will see again and who you may end up working for.

You may possibly be eligible. Go ahead and apply and go thru the interview. You can state you quit due to working conditions, they put unrealistic sales goals on you, due to the economy it was difficult for you to meet your sales goal.
