Unfair......................

ok i was let go in december witout any pay and been owed a few weeks wages due to no work available and the understanding that if more came up in the new year id be back working well more came up but i wasn't told, the other lads (foreigners) were giving totally un fair contracts that they signed
wats annoying me is
1. i was longest serving (6years) and most experienced and got no offer or contract
2. i was the only one to kick up over tax and insurance not getting paid
3. i was the only one to mention the union
4. i kicked up over not getting paid bonus and been over worked.
then the lads go back make a total mess of the job get ripped off and let go again
i got onto the union sent all my p45 and claim for redundancy and the rep said oh i know ur boss he was a good friend and now i here nothing off them, i rang back the HQ and they tell me they dont deal wit it that my rep does but he keeps pawning me off sayin its in progress and rushes me off the phone, wen i asked 4 my forms he says he will post them but still hasn't

so wat can i do from here i want some sort of justice on this as i think i was treated unfairly

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. Hope my answer helps.

You brought up the "U" word that managers love so much. To a manager, what you have really just said is, "I have a great potential for making things difficult here." At this point, you want to assess where you stand with management. In my view, you are done talking with your boss or anyone in management. They likely know about you and will dodge your calls.

If you are owed money and/or have an employment contract that entitles you to something you did not get, retain an employment attorney and copy him/her on any written correspondence you send the company. You can do this after you send an initial letter to your company claiming the discrepancies you have noticed, asking for what you would like to happen, and giving the timeline for your next actions. Make sure this letter is professional, polite, appeals to their sense of civility, and is to-the-point.

The rest is common sense. Take note of exact quotes, times, dates, actions taken of anything you have noticed or done that is pertinent to this case. Your attorney will also advise about appropriate details to jot down and actions you might be able to take (if any).

Do not underestimate a company's willingness to screw the employee if it makes financial sense. Big companies too. I have been part of some of these discussions, and there was a lot of talk about strategy--if you know what I mean.
