I love art and music, but am talented enough to get a Law degree or business degree. My questions are 1. Which, if any of these degrees would NOT help me find a job? 2. Which degree would probably allow me to travel the most? 3. Which degree would yeild the most money? I am really worried because I wanted to do art or music, but am unsure if I could get a job with either one. Job suggestions would help as well.

1. With any degree you can always find some work, maybe not in what your degree is about but work in general. IMHO anyone can find work if they really want it.
2. Each degree will offer specific careers where travel can be either frequent or rare. Singer - tours. Art - shows. Law - famed defense attorney. MBA - International management. But I think a business degree may offer most opportunities for travel.
3. Most money (easy money) comes from a job you love to do. From a job you can do much better than other people. So what do you really love to do and, being honest, what is your best talent?
I suggest: Get an MBA with a minor in art or music or both and work in the environment (art/music/law) which you love the best. Big law firms need business people too. |

As a person who loves art and music as well, and decided to go to law school instead of pursuing what I love, I would have to say to pick the thing that makes you the happiest. You will be more likely to excel in something you like doing, than dragging yourself to get your work done somewhere else.
If you decide to go to law school, do really well on the LSATs, make sure your GPA is close to a 4.0, and pray every night that a great school will take you. If that doesn't happen, then pick a school in an area where you know you'll want to practice.
Of course, you will always be able to find a job with a law degree, and make decent money.
A business degree to me in worthless, unless you want to go into management.
Move to NYC if you want to pursue a career in music or art.

The answer to all yr questions is a big NO. A degree cannot do any of the things you asked for. In life, it is all abt yr attitude and aptitude. To put it simply, it is all abt how high and far you wish to achieve yr goals in life. |

well a law degree is an universal degree in the sense u cant do any job in general with a law degree...so if u really like arts&music more than law go 4 it... but if ur prefer both on the same level than get a law degree 1st in a good school.. a lawyer can feed himself better than an artist.. if then u think arts is ur passion nothing stops u from pursuing it but urself |

Hi go with a good basis of business, you can apply any other skills & interests on top of it.
For suggestions, try looking at any main jobs online that you are attracted to, note their qualfications and how to get on from there.
And go with that. |
