Want a Pet, but live in a complex?

When I first moved into the complex, pets were allowed. But since then the rules have changed and no pets are allowed. I would really love to have a cat.
If I get a cat, what can the body corporate do? Will they just give a fine, or can they actually have my cat removed or put down.

1) Why don't you see if an exception can be made to allow your pet (I'm assuming those that had pets before the rules changed were allowed to keep their pets).
2) If not, and you get a pet, you will probably get a 3-day notice to comply with the lease/rules or quit (vacate the premises). This is, of course, assuming the landlord finds out. Unless you get rid of the pet, you can be evicted and the eviction will show up on your credit report.
3) Why don't you move into another apartment complex that allows pets?
4) No, the cat cannot be "put down" for your violation of the lease / rules. |
