What's the chances of a mature student securing a training contract?

I'm now 42, recently completed law degree (2:2), completed LPC (pass) In the past I've set up and run my own retail businesses, I've been a project manager for publishing company, I've had previous experience of working in law firms as an outdoor clerk in london, attending before masters, knowing court procedures, fixing dates for trial, attending court hearings. during last few years of studying I've worked in law firm as summer work experience, currently i'm training with the CAB to help me get to advising and interviewing clients etc, but no luck with any training contracts or paralegal work. Can anyone help?
