What are my options if convicted of a white collar crime 6 months? Do you always put down you have a felony?

Long story short I was convicted of a white collor crime got 6 mth probation should have got nothing; i have a huge resume with a ton of experience in sales and managing. Do you always put down you have the felony? Do all companies have background checks; I mean does it even matter what happened to you in your case which i got screwed; Its like I have this huge resume but if I put down I have a felony I feel like I will immediately be rejected; I have 4 year degree; huge sales and managing experience but I feel like I am dead in the water with that hanging over my head; does anyone have any suggestions. It would be appreciated.

If an application asks if you've been convicted of a felony, you must answer truthfully. Almost always, if that question is on the application, the company does a background check. Also, answering in the affirmative will not always mean immediate rejection. You indicate that your experience is in sales and management. Well, as long as your work does not involve working with financial information or securities, then you might be okay.

Many companies do a background check, so it is best to be up front about everything. With the internet and inexpensive services available to check everybody out, you cannot hide the fact that you were charged, etc. If you successfully complete probation, you can see if you can get the conviction sealed, off your record so to speak. This may help you. It will take a lawyer to do this.

I've heard people who omit it and get hired, but if they put it down they don't get hired. There's a chance that an employer does a background check later on and would fire you but as long as it's not a high profile job it seems unlikely.

You would probably want to put it down. Most companies that pay any decent amount of money are going to do a background check. They may give you a chance if you are upfront about it. If you try to hide and they find out, you definitely will not get the job. I have a misdemeanor dui which is nothing like a felony. (not trying to compare) But I always put it down when they ask for misdemeanors and it has never affected me.

Yes, you do, unless the company asks for a resume only, and obviously you wouldn't want to include that.

If you are working with personal account information for business or the public...a felony isn't going to look so good.

Unforunately, that is part of the punishment....and the general incentive for people to stay on the right side of the law.

Honesty is the best policy, just check yes you have a felony and you will explain indetail at the interview. Keep the faith someone will give you a chance don't get discourage. Good Luckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
