I'm looking for a temp job until university starts & reluctantly signed on job seekers a few months ago, why am I being summoned for an appointment/interview?

they want proof that you are seeking employment..that is why you are claiming job-seekers allowance? so when you go,and take note...they will ask you what have you being doing to actively seek employment?..you reply..looking in the local papers,going down to the job centre,twice a week because that's all you can afford ,otherwise it would be five times a week? use your head,and think..not too hard in front of them..but ask yourself some awkward questions before you go.and come up with a plausible answer?
example 1..have you been searching for work?
answer? yes..but nothing suitable?
example 2..where you been looking?
answer..job centre,and local paper?
its questions like that,tell them what they want to hear? trust me? don't ever turn round and say Ive being sat on my jacksy,i don't want a job?or something to the likes,cos that will go down quicker than the titanic? you re going to uni? so you re obviously not daft? use you re head, and not lie,but bend the truth a little bit? by the way,this is not Alcatraz,but his brother...bird man..who is not connected to Alcatraz in any way but hacked into his computer? |

They will say that they can help you with job searching, training, benefits etc but when you ask them, they don't know.
Ring a few companies in the days before ask for a job/application form, that will satisfy them. |

It's routine and regular and is designed to give work to people who'd be on the dole like you if it didn't happen. They have a special aptitude test which, being university educated, you'd almost certainly fail.

Don't worry......they do it quite regularly to ask you what your doing to find work and to see if you need help doing so. They've got to do it. Nothing to worry about. |

So that they can patronise you thoroughly and their barely past GCSE level front line staff can tell you how to write a letter and imply that getting a job without help from them will probably be beyond your capabilities.
Take copies of all the jobs you have applied for and a list of any or all interviews that you have been on in with you-and be prepared to be asked why, exactly, you're not gainfully employed by now-after all, who do you think you are, not just accepting any old job?
LOL, don't panic-they only want to know what you've been doing to find a job (although they probably will ask why you've not got one yet!). |
