What are the rights of a 14 year old in the work place?
Find answers to your legal question.

What are the rights of a 14 year old in the work place?

I've just started at hungry jacks about a month ago.

I was just wondering if anyone knew the regulations and rights of a person of my age who works, like maximum hours allowed to be worked in a week (during holidays and during a school term), regulations in regards to breaks, the earliest time i should be working and latest time, what i cant be fired for, and any additional information you can help me with

thanks.
Additional Details
I live in Western Australia.
I've noticed some answers involving finding other methods to earn money.
I'm happy working my job, and am not interested in online work (eg. surveys).
Just I dont want to be over-worked or be taken advantage of and i want to know where i stand.
I tried some googling on this but alot of the results were for the USA, but i want to know for Western Australia.

The regulations depend on your state, you have to look it up.

You can be fired for any reason, or no reason. Our law is "employment at will" -- this is what it means.

Of course you can sue if you think the employer violated some law in firing you, but that is a tough case to prove. Even if that is the "real" reason, it doesn't take much to fabricate some other reason. "Bad attitude" is enough.

Welcome to the grown-up world. Now, just add a couple hungry babies to the mix and you're there.
