i was caught shoplifting from a khols department over 6 months ago. i payed a fine, and thats all i am aware that happend. I was 15 at the time. I'm now 16, and i have been applying for jobs. I was called back for an interview the day after.. but will they be able to find out about the prior shoplifting? i wasn't charged with a misdemeanor and im pretty sure its not on my record or anything.. Kohls just sent a letter with a fine and i payed it. help would be great!

If the case was settled amicably, I don't think it won't appear in your records except if the case was brought to court. |

No, not if it happened when you were a minor, they will not be able to find out abot it. Anything you do after you turn 18 (or the age of majority in your state) goes on your record. Don't tell your employer about it or they will definitely NOT hire you. Nobody is going to hire a thief. Nobody. |

Kohls doesn't have the legal authority to charge you a fine.
If you paid a fine, you plead guilty to a misdemeanor, and that means you have a record. |

Hey, this isnt really an answer but I was just caught shoplifting at a khols and I was wondering how much of a fine to expect in the letter they sent you with a fine. They told me if could be up to x5 the amount the items worth. Im worried but if u could email me back that would be great. this was my first offence ever too. |
