If you have just passed the bar and are starting out I would recommend trying to find a well known lawyer local to the area you want to work in and observing them for awhile. I know here in Georgia the state bar has a young attorney mentoring program, you should see if your local state/district has the same.
Also, a VERY good tip is to always return Client phone calls. Word of mouth and referrals are a big part of the clients you will receive. |

u must argue 4 gud points, cases. clear?
u must then read those books which r given 4 u .
u must develope, the capable of managing the lies too when u r wrong sometimes, instead of standing like a pillar there in the court when u r wrong. |

A good lawyer follows the ethical rules of his/her state. A good lawyer informs the client up front of charges and what work will be done on the case. A good lawyer does not lie to get a case, to keep a client, to the court, or to cover his/her mistake. A good lawyer keeps up with the law in their chosen area by attending seminars, reading current cases, and monitoring changes in laws. A good lawyer is willing to help a person in need, even if that means referring this person to another attorney. |
