It mostly depends on the dealer. If he's reputable and you have a good reason, i.e., it won't start, it uses oil, etc., they'will probably take it back in trade for a different car. But. I've never heard of anybody getting their money back unless it's a candidate for the "lemon law." Call your Sec. of State and tell them the whole, true story. They're the ones who decide, but, talk to your dealer first. Good luck! |

A little more information would be helpful here.
Depends on your definition of "not happy with". If something went wrong with it that's covered by warranty, then your legal right is to have it fixed according to the warranty. If it's a new car and your area has a lemon law, and some covered problem occurs with it that the dealer can't fix in a specified number of tries (often 3), then you might have the right to return the car, depending on what your law says.
Other than that, your right if you aren't happy is to try to trade in the car and find one you are happy with. |

Define "not happy".
It all depends on the reason you are returning it, how long it's been, what the dealership policy is, whether you bought new or used, etc.
Call the dealership and ask what their policy is. If you bought a used car and have only had it for a few days or a demo, sometimes you would be suprised at how accomodating they can be. |
