Don't you think that its unfair when you go for a job interview and they tell you that you don't have the experience to do this job? Don't you think that the only way we'll get the experience is to actually do the job? What do you think? No I didn't just come from a job interview I just keep hearing about it. The only way we're ever going to get the experience is to DO THE JOB!

Yeah it pisses me off to. The trick is to get any job, because the first job is the hardest to get. Then do your damnedest to apply what you did at that job to your next possible job while in the interview. For example I worked at a pizza place but played up my responsibilities in organizing and labeling food, data entry, and customer service in later interviews.

Yeah, it is stupid when that happens. I agree with ya.

What they are trying to say is they want someone who has similar work experience. It costs a lot of money to train someone and most higher paying jobs want someone who can be trained quickly. They look for an applicant who is somewhat familiar with the software and daily job description. For example, I would not hire a general laborer as a legal secretary. I would need someone quickly to understand the job in general. I would instead hire a medical transcriptionist or an office administrator. Understand?

Most companies are cheap and many already have financial problems..
Sometimes it is good to do some volunteer work for them as an intern with no pay.
If you do a great job they will hire you and should give you back pay.
That way you guarantee that you can handle the job.

well you either have to work at a really crappy job and serve your time or get an internship while in college so you can hit the ground running.

right!!! u are absolutely right... This is why u find a college that does internships like me and you'll have the experience fresh out of college.
