IN APRIL 2006 I WAS ACCUSED OF STEALING FROM THIS STORE I WORKED THERE ALL TOGETHER FOR 11 YEARS AND WAS NEVER ACCUSED OF ANYTHING....I WAS ACCUSED OF $12750.00 OF MERCHANDISE EMBEZZELEMENT CHARGES WHEN THEY WERE ASKED WHAT KIND OF PROOF THEY HAVE ALL THEY CAME UP WITH WAS THIS TOTAL AMOUNT....I HAVENT HEARD ANYTHING FROM THE COURTS OR MY LAWYER OR ANYTHING COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I CAN DO NOW....THIS IS MY REPUTATION AND IT IS HARD TO FIND A JOB NOW THAT THEY HAVE DONE THIS TO ME....ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED....IM SO AGGREVATED WITH THIS....CAN I PUT A LAW SUIT ON THEM? THANKS

Geez for an amount that large they should have been able to come up with something more than just a total - it's not like they were claiming you stole a bag of potato chips or something.

That said, if you are in the US, they most likely have the right to fire you without giving you a reason. You could talk to a lawyer, but it's not likely that you can bring a successful legal complaint.

Contact a lawyer.
There are laws that govern what past employers can and can not disclose to others requesting information. Only a lawyer will be able to fully answer your question.

Seems like you have an attorney...check with him first...if you don't get a positive response...get another attorney....this is a long and expensive fight....your either in it or out of it....you have to make that choice first..

Nowhere in your post did it say you were fired.

Nowhere did it say you were criminally charged.

Even if you were fired, if you are not criminally charged, what do you expect an attorney to do?
