What can I do if a coworker I trusted is threatening to tell people at work my personal business?

A coworker I trusted as a friend is now blaming me for something that happened at work and is threatening to tell everyone at work everything he knows about me. What should I do? Is there anything I can do?

There is nothing you can do legally to prevent someone from telling truthful personal information. Your only hope is to appeal to the other's sense of decency.

you could always talk to you boss, not like u have to tell her your personal business but you can just explain whats going on and maybe your boss can sort it out for you in a nice way. or you could just let your friend say whatever he wants to about you and then just deny it all that might make him look bad also if someone confronted you and you said "gosh! i had no idea!"

Your question said it was persona business and your comment says it was something at work. That makes it busniess related. He may just be joking. Time will tell. In the mean time, talk to him.

Not really a friend huh? You need to go to your boss. He/she doesn't need to know what the personal stuff is, just let him/her know what your coworker is doing to you. Maybe this coworker is doing or has done this to other people and has to be stopped!

Talk to your coworker and tell him or her how you feel. He or she should understand.
