Hello I am a 27 year old single mother of 3 living in Houston TX and I am currently in school taking the basics. I have a felony theft charge on my record and I want to get a good paying job. Does any one know a field I can recieve a AA in and get a job with my felony? Making somewhere around 2500, to 3000 a month . I just started school so I can change my major with no problem.

Hello, I'm 27 and just left a 50K year job to start an at home business with Reliv International. It's not easy to get a job with a felony, also depends on situation. I would highly suggest looking into building your own home based business because you have kids. I know many moms who have done it successfully and are making more than your expecting to make. I left the terrible corporate world to do this for the kids that I plan to have someday soon.

First, schedule a meeting with a career counselor at the school. You really need to be prepared to tell them what areas or fields you are interested in pursueing.
Second, find out if you can do anything to have the felony expunged from your record.
Third, be prepared to work hard and don't get dejected. School can be hard enough when you don't have a child to raise, so keep reminding yourself it isn't just for you.

If you're in school, are you in school to get your associate's degree already? if so, you're on the right track. It will likely be difficult for you to make that amount of money, felony or not. You also only have a felony "charge", I assume you weren't covicted? If not, then most employment applications won't ask you that, but if they then push and tell you they'll do a background check, you may want to explain that you were NOT convicted. |
