What can you do with a law degree?

I am graduating in May with my Juris Doctorate, but I am not sure whether I really want to be a lawyer. My undergraduate degree is in English, and I am certified to teach secondary English. Does anyone have any ideas about possible careers?

Consider going into HR. A company I worked for had a lawyer as HR director. Their reason..., employment laws have become so complicated, it was worth having a lawyer the payroll as HR director.
((And this co wasn't a Fortune 500 company either) It was a small familiy owned co, 50 million annual revene.

I guess you can go back to teaching. I'm sure there are many other options out there. You may even be able to teach at a university if you don't want to teach at the high school level.

So you went to law school for why? You are like so many of our young folk....well financed but with no direction. I'm sorry that you have spent all this time in school and then graduate studies and you still do not know what to do. I think you need to seek some solid direction for you life and see how folk who are not privileged enough to get even a high school education earn a living.

I would suggest that you join the Peace Corp or maybe even devote some time in the mission field looking at 3rd world countries. You will benefit by the experience and then after five or so years you may even have a passion and purpose for your life.
