I assume you do not have a union. Without a union there is nothing you can do about it. |

Say thank you and ask that they keep you in mind for any overtime tasks that come up.
If that is not good enough, find another job or as someone else said... a 2nd job. |

If you need the overtime to earn more money, then the others are right...get a second job. If the overtime is needed to get your work done, then that's another issue. If he/she won't give you the proper amount of time to get the work completed, just do what you can in the time allotted. When he/she questions why the work isn't done, tell them you are doing the best you can but can't possibly get all the work done without overtime and that's why you requested it. |

an employer does not have to give/allow you o/t, never seen any laws like that , yet.
if u need the o/t
may i suggest a reading of '48 days to work u love' d.miller . a good book for going forward and plenty of fresh reference material.
the other one is 'total money make over' d.ramsey helps our folks retain their cash.
spending less and getting more value from their paychecks.
our associates have a mandatory read of the books. |

Your employer is not obligated to give you overtime just because you ask for it. If you ask and don't get any, see if you can find a second job. |
