Steps:
1. Get a BA/BS degree. It does not matter what the degree is, nor do you have to take any particular classes. Law schools do consider the difficulty of the major, the school that you went to, but primarily they look at grades.
2. Take the LSAT. You don't need to "study" for this test, as in you don't have to learn any particular subjects. But you need to prepare for it by taking practice tests and improving your ability to do well.
3. Graduate from law school, preferably an ABA approved school. This is a 3-4 year program.
4. Take the bar exam and the multistate professional responsibility exam (MPRE). Depending for which state, the bar exam can be a 2-3 day exam. The MPRE is a few hours.
5. Pass moral character. This is a background check that all lawyers must pass.
There are many other little steps, but I hope this will give you a start.
If this is something you are seriously considering, talk to your school adviser, and do some research online, there's plenty of resources available to you.
Good luck. |
