Aleks is right but the huge benefit is when a corporation takes your company on to represent them you get a cut of the big bucks. You have a vested interest in the company. |

From what I understand - it basically means that you get to share in the profits the law firm makes on the grunts. |

Normally you join a law firm as an associate, and work ungodly hours for seven to ten years while a partnership committee decides if you have the same lack of ethics that they do. If you demonstrate that you will represent anyone who is willing to pay you, without regard for whether you are representing the side of justice (and without regard for the best interests of your own clients), you will be offered a partnership. |
