An employment agency cannot garnish your wages from a different job unless they put you there, too and you are getting your paycheck from the agency. Yes, if you signed a contract, you will owe them the rest of the fee. Pay it out in whatever amount you can afford. They may send mean letters, but won't sue because they wouldn't want to pay the legal fees. Just pay what you can and don't worry about it. They may be able to garnish if they have a court order, but I don't think any company with just a past-due bill can do this (just our beloved government.) |
