What happens to my JSA when I accept a job that doesn't start for 3-4 weeks?

You have no choice but to tell them. It is the right thing to do. And ultimately regardless of what they tell you, you have to tell them that you've been offered this job. Not doing so could be considered benefits fraud, and should they find out, they will claim back the money anyway, and it could potentially damage your ability to get a work permit in the USA.

Either way, there will normally be some level of money you will receive. Most job seekers get some bonus paid to them for finding a job, additionally they will probably tell you that you'll be entitled to either JSA or income support for the interim period. Remember, you are still looking for a temporary job in the UK until you start your new job in the USA

You can tell them but they will expect you still look for a job in the UK. They will pay you until you sign off of dole officially. I wouldn't do that if I were you as they will stop all payments.

Go in say you've accepted a job but you will be looking for another until you can start the one you have accepted as you can always turn the USA job down. They shouldn't say or do anything. They just want you to show your looking for work.

you need to notify the inefficient job centre staff but you are eligable for jsa until you start so it doesn't affect it.

Don't tell them as your money will stop, I have been offered a job starting on monday but I signed on tuesday and get my money on friday morning, I will go and sign off friday afternoon - it used to be that you got money until your first wage but now it stops instantly and you need to claim a crisis loan till you get a wage. Have you applied to immigrate to USA and have a visa and work permit as this can take several months before you get accepted, unless your head office is here and your tax and salary will be in the UK. When the Job centre ask what have you been doing to look for a job tell them you have been for interviews and it looks good and you are waiting to hear and ask them if you get the job in USA when do you sign off. Keep Quiet, Wait Until the Last few Days before Leaving for your Job Then sign off, One of the Main reasons They pay JSA is your supposed to be Active in seeking Work, They will Stop your JSA and Probably mess you around Claiming Other Benefits.
