The field of law can include many different careers, attorney is just one. Many people get law degrees and do not practice law.
If you are a sophomore in high school you have plenty of time to decide if law school is right for you or if you want to do something else in law. To go to law school you have to first obtain a college degree. And it doesn't really matter what your major in college is when you apply to law school.
Practicing law requires an analytical ability and an excellent grasp of English both spoken and written. If you want to be a trial or appellate lawyer you also have to be comfortable with public speaking.
If you are considering a law degree, courses to study in college should include English and philosophy (it is from philosophy where we get the Socratic method). What you will learn in law school is how to think like a lawyer, which is derived from the Socratic method.
You can also take criminal justice courses to see if you may be interested in other careers in law (law enforcement, investigating, etc.)
Law school and practicing law are competitive but you can and will build confidence as you gain experience.
If after you finish college you are still interested in law and want to go to law school, and are willing to make the commitment (3 more years of school and hard study) you should go. The most important factor in deciding to go to law school is the desire.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do. |

Well, we used to have to take those ridiculous tests all the time when I was younger. Mine, I don't even remember, but I do remember my friend had her #1 career job as a garbage man, lol. How embarrassing? All it does is show you talents and interests and what you like to do and put that into a career. Like...I like to go swimmin, but i would never be a swim coach and i'm an animal lover and help around the animal shelter, but i would never go into that field, lol. =] |

I would seriously consider whether law is for you. I started out as a lawyer but was not very happy doing it. You could do other things than practice law with a law degree, though.
Good luck,

Follow you dream and do what you like to do. If law will not be your "thing" - then something will happen - along the way - for you to make a decision on what to do next. |

those tests don't really matter. If you're really interested in law, you should be reading law books and cases now. law school is very difficult. open up a case and see if that's what you want ot be doing. |

Don't let a career test that you take now determine your path. Those tests are for people who don't know what they want. If the law is your passion, then that will get you through, even if your personality isn't what the tests say would be most suited to it. Plus, you'll change a lot in college. My shy, quiet friend who graduated high school is a great storyteller who stands up for herself 4 years later. Trust your instincts more than a standardized test. |

do what you feel.. you might try and get a job in a law firm doing some filing or something first though.. cause as fun as it seems on tv.. being a lawyer is hard work and if you can spend all that time in school you could be a doctor not to mention that being a lawyer is about 80% sitting at a desk for ten hours a day.. it's not about being in the courtroom and helping people like you might think. |

Well, you're a sophomore, so you still have a little time left. Do what you want to do. Do not allow your entire future career to be determined by career tests. |

I think that your a sophomore in high school which means you have many years before you have to decide what you want to do with the rest of your life. Who cares what a career test says. It is law that you have to follow what a career test says. |

Don't go by these tests or by what people say! Just have a back-up idea for a career, and once you get to college take some law classes. If you love the classes: go with it...if you don't: hello back-up. |
