Hi.......A job fair is a place that is usually of significant size holding employers from around your state wishing to employ knowledgeable, skilled and versed employees in a certain region. There's usually a hundred or so tables set-up and a equal number of employers set-up to introduce what their looking for, what they have to offer.. If you have something like this you should go and look around, ask questions..

Maybe you can find a better job at a higher rate of pay and good benefits..

its where a bunch of companys get together in like an autitorium or sometihng and set up a table and people go from table to table learning about each place of employeement :)

The ones i have attended are often held in a hall and lots of businesses get together to advertise their vacancies. Remember to take a CV and dress smart,it is fairly informal but its allways good to make and impression and to get as many contacts as you can. You have to approach the tables, its not like normal interviews, just relax and approach the people you are interested in.
think of key questions e.g perks of the job, whats a regualr days work like?

Yup. A bunch of companies send a couple of their recruiters to represent themselves at a job fair. Usually each company will have a booth, and some information on what they do, and what they're recruiting for.

People looking for a job will show up and be able to meet with numerous employers, have a small informal preliminary introduction with these employers and have a chance to get their resume and a first impression out to a number of employers all in one building or room.

It's a start to get your name into a company that has never heard of you before, or possibly into a company you've never heard of before. A lot of times this is a great place to find entry level work and get your foot in the door, although occasionally you'll find job fairs/career fairs for higher skillsets.

you can usually find out about where and when these are (most of the time these are free for people looking for a job to attend) through a newspaper or local college.
