Part-time is the definition of the employer... it could be 20 hours or less - some are 29 hours or less... some (mine company) is no more than 40 hours. You hit 40 than it is full-time. |

It depends on your state labor laws. In NM, where I grew up, any thing 28 hours and under was part-time. In AZ, where I live now, it is 32 hours and under. Check with your state Dept of Labor. |

It kind of depends on the company and the state you live in. Some companies define full-time as anything over 32 hours, some 36, and some 40. And some states have strict definitions of what constitutes part-time or full-time. |

Federal Labor Law states, If you are hired to work less than 40 hours a week, you are considered part-time. If you work 40 hours or more after taking the position, your employer can still classify you as part time.
Some states have more resistive definitions. |
