Well, you can always check the law firms in your area and see if anyone is looking for part-time work. A few other good places to intern would be at your local prothonotary's office, local DA's office, local courts (federal, state, county, etc.) or municipalities courts. If you know what type of law you are interested in getting into (i.e. family law, litigation, bankruptcy, etc.) look into law firms that specialize in that area. Even if firms aren't looking, you can always call and ask if you can intern with them for nothing. That's the best way to get a little bit of experience as well as learn what specific field(s) you are into. Good luck! |

The truth is, where you work/ intern is totally irrelevant. Law schools and law firms care about one thing: GRADES. Do whatever you have to do to get the best grades and top LSAT score so you can get into the best law school. Period. |

a Large law firm will use you as a runner and gofer. Try a smaller firm where a attoney may let you "carry his briefcase" for him.
Also an internship with a state or local agency involved in legislation or judicary are good. Most law school now however are looking for a more rounded student. Any position that shows you can think reason and read is good. |

anyone can work at a law firm. Do something different, like working for legal aid, or a non-profit like that. You'll probably get better experince because they'll let you do more. |
