I know I want to go into the Law Field.. I'm not going just for the money but this would help me choose what field of Law I want to go to. Please help me..

If you want something "ethical" then you might look at corporate law or entertainment law.
Many of the law firms that make a ton of money on class action suits are slimy. They solicit clients through commercials and tv ads and win these massive settlements. But the injured parties often get much less than they would be reasonably entitled too if their claim were handled individually. The lawyers get something like 25%-33% of the total settlement. While I think the people who were legitimately injured (literally or in the legal sense) deserve compensation, I have a huge issue with lawyers who turn it into a massive payday. |

judge!! Barristers are pretty good too, if you set up your own practice or get into a specialist area, eg: intellectual property and represent all the super rich people! It depends on how good you are really, who you work for and how good a reputation you have! |

Justin H...it takes a lot of money and time to become a lawyer, a lot more to become successful. The 25-35% cut is justified and most lawyers will only make any money if their side reaches a settlement and wins it out in court. |

I believe that you are motivated by money or you wouldn't be asking this question. I think you need to do an internship in what ever interests you and go from there. I have worked with people from around the world and all walks of life who get into careers for the wrong reasons and spend every dime they make looking for happiness and fulfillment. Don't make your decision based on income potential, make it on what you enjoy and love doing. |
