I believe it is sixteen. It is in most states.

The Federal law says 16. Please do not drop out of school, if you are in a potentially dangerous situation, see about transferring to a different school. If you drop out of school, you will still need to get a GED to get anywhere at all in life, and with the new tougher tests for it, it could take you just as long as staying in school. Plus you will probably have to pay for at least the testing portion. I usually will not hire drop-outs!
