What makes a great attorney?
|
Serious question. What makes a great attorney? Is it experience? Is it knowledge? If it's knowlege, how is this knowledge gained for this great attorney, as oppose to the other attorneys who graduated from the same law school?
What seperates a great attorney from a good, or regular attorney?

A great attorney is someone who is doing the job because they love the job; that makes anyone a great employee. If you're a high schooler who has to get a part-time job and the only thing you can do is work at McDonald's, you'll probably treat the job with disdain and do the very least you can to get a paycheck. But if you love your job, if you are passionate about what you do, you will go the extra mile to understand your job and enjoy the work.
Sure, experience may help you out in little ways, and it always helps to know what you're talking about (it also saves time so you don't have to look up every law every time), but that doesn't make you great. It's your drive, your dedication, your enjoyment of the job. |
