What should I wear to a job interview at a law firm?

By the way i am a 15 year old girl who has a job interview at a law firm on monday. Iam obviously not going to be a lawyer working their lol. i am goign to be a file clerk. even though i am not a lawyer yet i still know that i have to dress professionally to the job and the interview. I just dont know what to wear? I owuld really apreciate it if you gave me some great advice.

people in a law office are dressed conservatively, so a simple white blouse (not low cut)(no belly sticking out) and navy or black skirt down to your knees and 1" pump shoes (no open toe or heel) would be appropriate. Since you're supposed to dress for the type of job you're applying for you don't need to wear a suit.

You will see what the others are wearing once you start the job. Sometimes temp workers from the colleges will do filing in casual clothes (because they will be lifting, bending, climbing, carrying files, xeroxing and maybe doing runner work, or you may even get to do library work filing in the books).

A business suit: Slacks (or skirt below the knees), Nice blouse, and a blazer. Comfortable shoes (closed toe, and heels no higher than 2 1/2 inches).

Preferably everything in a neutral or dark shade (hot pink or green not recommended).

Also, make up should be minimal to non-existent, and hair should be neat and pulled back out of the face.

When you start working there, you probably won't have to dress up that much, but the rule of interviews is to dress better than what you plan to where on your normal work day. This is about making a good impression. How you look demonstrates how much thought and interest you have in wanting to make that impression and, in turn, how much you want that position..

Good Luck... this sounds like an excellent opportunity for you!

At 15 you usually don't own a business suit. As long as you are clean, neat and wear clothing more on the conservative side in a color range of black, grey, brown or navy---until you work there for a week or so to see what other people are wearing.

Since you are 15, do not wear a skirt that's too short, try to find something that's closer to your knees. If you own a pencil skirt that isn't too tight and not too short; match that with a button down white blouse with flats or low pumps--that would work for an interview.

Take your que from what your idea of a "lawyer" is, the ones you see on TV and in the movies. Nothing flashy, no bright colors, nothing too short, nothing with a plunging neckline and nothing too tight. You will be representing the firm in the public whether you're an attorney or not.

Good luck!

Look nice. They will take you more serious.

Good Luck
