The misdemeanor is for harassment. I was trying to get money back from a person who I loaned money to.

Self employed might be the best option.
If this is not possible try to avoid a position in which you have exposure to "difficult clients", accounts receivable or any job that needs a security clearance. |

You can do anything you set your mind to do. There is no problem for those with a minor misdemeanor. I do not even believe they check for misdemeanors. I just received a copy of my criminal background check that a potential employer did on me and there was no mention of my misdemeanors. I believe they only check for felony's. I have trouble with some of these places which will absolutely not hire anyone who has a felony when the job they are applying for does not require them to carry a gun and the felony itself is only minor. I believe employers should check all references and previous employers before they make a decision based solely on a year or two of your past life. I mean what about all you other years of life where you were an upstanding citizen, who had not even thought about getting into trouble. I am advocate for those of us who have made some bad decisions in the past and are still haunted by them today.
Go after the job you want. If you do not get the first one there is a better one down the road. Don't give up. |
