Whats a good job for some one that has a Misdemeanor??
|
Here is the story, we all have friends we care about, and one of our friends messed up! This person stole from a recent employer. It is the first time he has gotten in trouble with the law, he’s a good person but I guess the influences of everyone at his job made him do something dumb and well he has a misdemeanor charge. And now its hard for him to get a job and the times that he did get a job a random back ground check pops out then they let him go. So we have no ideas! How say you? Anything that can help.? please Thanks in advanced!!!!!
-help us help our friend!-

He's gotta start out back in the mailroom and earn trust and respect from prospective employers again. The only thing that is going to help him is time... the longer an employer sees that it has been since his 'youthful indiscression' the more willing they will be to believe that it was a one time stupid kid thing. |

I wouldn't suggest a job where your friend handles cash. |

nothing... how can you steal from your job, thats only an obvious way to get caught and fired. your friend is dumb, sorry, but if they did that, its not opinion, its fact, dumb. comminuty service might work, but you can get let go from that too if you do dumb things |

Now that is a bad one. Stealing from the person who is paying you then asking another to take a chance. Hate to say it but time must pass and drudgery or luck will play roles. Bad thing is, can one ever truly trust a thief? Even if it said it was bad mistake? Well if they are fessing up to it that is one thing. However that does not detract from the consequences. Some employeers will take people with records for labor type or service work. Now don't get that wrong. A roofer makes some pretty good money. They always need someone to do the heavy stuff. |

Well first of all if I were him then I would just be honest with the potential employer from the beginning and explain the situation. Everyone makes mistakes and if he shows that he's done everything he can to make up for it, then they are more likely to give him a chance. I would stay away from anything involving money, like a bank or finance company because of the nature of the offense, but he could try temp agencies. They have a lot of jobs available and he can prove that he's a good employee to an employer before they hire him so when they find out about his background they might not hold it against him. |

Its a misdemeanor not a felony so I wouldnt think it would matter. He could always get a lawyer to have it taken off his record.
I have never seen a job application ask for info on a misdemeanor. |

A misdemeanor conviction carries no weight on discrimination against getting any job. |
