I want to be in Law Enforcement and the subject isnt a big deal to me because I can do without the long hair but I have always wanted (WELL KEPT dreadlocks) and yes there is a such thing as well kept dreadlocks, so please hold all the STEREOTYPES and LAME jokes. Dreadlocks can be clean, well kept and professional. I would love to have intelligent answers for once in my entire time trying to use Yahoo answers and not jsut some children who pose as a police officer or people who are posing as somethin they arent. I know there are intelligent people out there. Those are who i appreciate answers from and hope to get one from them. Sorry everyone for my rant but i clearly felt the need to state that before posting so immature children dont waste my time reading. thanks.

Also I would like to state that my goal is to be in a Narcotics division. I have seen those guys with hair that is clearly not along the lines of normal regulation. I am not basing my career on hair also. I have always wanted to be in Narcotics Division but I have just recentley seen these guys with long hair. Thanks

Each department is different. Most of the police departments want their officers looking clean cut. The only time you can look messy is if and when you go undercover.
