When applying for a new job, what is a good term to use when referring to a past job that you were fired from?
Find answers to your legal question.

When applying for a new job, what is a good term to use when referring to a past job that you were fired from?

I am applying for a new job right now. I don't want to say that my reason for leaving my last job was that I was "terminated" or "fired." Those are both quite negative sounding terms.

Is there a euphemism I can use, or otherwise, a word that is less negative in its connotations?

It is for a paralegal job.

separated

As in "on this date I separated from this company my mutual agreement". Translation, the employer wanted me out and I agreed. It is vague enough for terminationsions, down sizing, and quiting.
