When can I lay into my boss?

I was told I was being laid off but it won't go into effect until December. I'll get severance at that point. Would I risk losing it if I laid into him--as he deserves--the last week?

Yes you could risk losing it because he could probably fire you on the spot and any claim to severance would be forfeited. Take the high road and go out with class and dignity. You'll probably feel better about yourself in the end.
